Burke Lakefront Airport (BKL) is currently undergoing exterior renovations include painting the terminal building, removal of the canopy covering the front terminal walkway, new landscaping, window tinting and new LED lighting on building exterior facade and walkway.
The exterior of the building was painted in July, 2013. The canopy removal started in mid-October. A new walkway, landscaping and lighting will start at the end of October and is expected to be completed 2 weeks from the start date. Window tinting will take place as weather permits.
In addition to the renovation projects, new fencing and a security gate will be upgraded to enhance the look of the terminal building and provide additional security for tenants and users of the airport.
